Carole Pirri, who lives in Colorado Springs, was living a happy and normal life in 1995, until the day she went in for a routine physical and was told that her liver wasn't functionally well. Easter Seals Lands Josh Blue for Tax Check-Off PSA
High fives all around for Easter Seals of Colorado, one of our state's most important organizations for residents with disabilities. Due to some amazing schmoozing by Easter Seals Development Director Amy Kusek, NBC's Last Comic Standing winner, Denver's own Josh Blue, agreed to tape a PSA about Easter Seal's upcoming Tax Check-Off effort. Blue earlier served as a camp counselor for Easter Seals of Colorado, so Kusek knew he'd be happy to hear from his old buds. The taping occurred on "Blue Monday," when the city honored Blue for his Last Comic Standing win. This is the first year Easter Seals of Colorado will be on Colorado state tax forms as a check-off option. Television appearances by Jennifer Moe, Communications Director for the Donor Alliance, on KMGH-TV Channel 7's 11 am news with Katie Trexler and Bertha Lynn and KUSA-TV Channel 9's Colorado and Company with Denise Plante and Mark McIntosh, gave Donor Alliance's Donor Dash the momentum it needed to set a new participation record. The entry forms are still being counted, but the previous attendance record in the mid 800's was easily exceeded when event staff started looking for bib numbers exceeding the 1,000 mark. Donate Life Month Events Put the Spotlight on Organ/Tissue Donation and The Donor Alliance
April, Donate Life Month, was a busy one for The Donor Alliance, the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for Colorado and Wyoming. The Bawmann Group handled the media for Donate Life Month events at Larimer Square, The Capitol, and in Five Points.
